I've been smelling gas in my car since last year. It was only noticeable for a short while in the mornings or when it was cold so I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Plus I couldn't find the source right away and didn't feel like digging around. But just a couple of weeks ago, the smell was getting so strong that friends would comment on it the moment they got close to my car. I finally found the source to be the fuel pressure regulator - the area around it was damp with fuel. It's interesting how I checked it before and it looked fine. Guess you have to pop the hood the moment you smell it before it dries up. Anyways, I checked the Tech section, purchased the fuel pressure regualtor, 15" fuel line (I have about 6" left) and a new fuel fitler for around $90.00 from Courtesy. I replaced the fuel lines that were going to the fuel filter, and the two short ones that attached to the pressure regualtor. The overall process was pretty easy except for my arm kept getting burnt on the hot plenum. :) What surprised me the most though was the improvement in performance! My car seemed to bog a bit when you'd step on the gas from a stop and was also idling pretty rough. Now the throttle repsonse is instantaneous and she really flies effortlessly. Definitely a useful DIY! Just had to share. :) -Hideki
